Parking brake lever 9 is located to the driver’s seat right side. When the lever 9 handle is
pulled until it is latched the parking brake system is activated – BRAKES APPLIED position. For
releasing the brakes, pull the lever from the latched position and push it down till it stops –
BRAKES RELEASED position.
Auxiliary brake is applied by depressing the button 8, when the driver moves the foot
from the button the braking ends.
The supply of the outer air is adjusted by the lever 3 movement. When the lever 3 is in
the upper position, the air blows onto the windows through deflectors; the air blows to warm the
driver and passengers feet at the lower position of the lever.
The inner hatch is opened at the upper position of lever 4; it is closed at the lever lower
position.
Tachograph 15 design description and operation and service instructions are given in the
Digital Tachograph Operation Manual supplied with the truck.
Speedometer 8 according to the Fig. 19 shows the truck travelling speed and the counter
installed in it shows the truck total run.
Engine crankshaft speed is monitored by a tachometer 7. When the tachometer shows no
readings, switch on any load (heater, instruments illumination etc.); by this tachometer shows
crankshaft speed.
The fuel level in the main tank is shown by indicator 11. Its scale has an integrated indi-
cator 10 which lights up when the fuel volume is less than 60 l.
Air pressure in the brake air drive is monitored by two-pointer gauge; valve outlets which
portable pressure gauges can be connected to are provided for checking air pressure in each cir-
cuit.
Storage batteries are switched on and off by pressing a switch 37.
Trucks are equipped with centralized tire inflation system; a plate of tire inflation system
concerning the choice of tire pressure and travelling speed depending on the type of road is locat-
ed inside the cab on the front panel to the right side.
Tire inflation is controlled by switches 17,19 and monitored by pressure gauges 13. The
switches have three positions:
- inflation;
- deflation;
- neutral position – in which pressure gauges 13 and 13a indicate actual tire pressure.
The lamps 36 (IEU) and 40 (EDC) light on at turning the starter and instrument switch
key to the position I (instruments are on, position is fixed, key cannot be removed); by this Inter-
face engine unit (IEU) and Electronic diesel control (EDC) unit are being examined. Lamps 36
&40 go out when the diagnostic process is over.
If the lamp 36 is still lighting, the failure occurs in Interface engine unit (IEU). To find
and eliminate the failure, press the switch the switch 22 shortly and read the light codes in accord-
ance with Interface engine unit (IEU) Operation Manual.
If the lamp 40 is still lighting, the failure occurs in Electronic diesel control (EDC) unit.
