If the memory has records about faults upon their trouble shooting, the pilot lamp goes
out when the truck speed reaches 5-7 km/h. In case of faults in the system or in the electric cir-
cuits of one of the elements (modulator, sensors) or control circuits the pilot lamp 2 lights up. By
this the corresponding ABS circuit may be disconnected and the brake system will operate in the
common mode (without ABS mode).
The system does not require special maintenance except the control check of func-
tioning and ABS sensors installation when the bearings in the wheel units are adjusted or
replaced or when the linings are replaced.
5.5.6.5 ABS diagnostics. System status may be determined either with the diagnostic
equipment or by using blink codes (light codes). Check by blink codes is simple and requires no
special equipment.
Diagnostics by blink codes is intended for determining the faults which were found by
the ECU.
Turn the ignition on before starting the diagnostics by blink - codes (supply the ABS
with voltage ABS).

ABS is not functioning during the diagnostics process! After turning the ignition
key on, wait minimum for 1 second before pushing diagnostics button.
5.5.6.6 Knorr Bremze ABS diagnostics by blink codes
5.5.6.6.1 Electric circuits of components connection to Knorr Bremze control unit are
shown in Fig. 100.

The errors codes are recalled by means of one time pressing the diagnostics button
for 0,5-8 sec, and displayed by control lamp blinking (so called “blink-codes” output) as
shown on Fig.101.
