10 Transportation
10.1 The trucks can be transported by rail, sea and air or under its own power. The mode
of transport is specified in the supply contract. In so doing the preparatory works should be done
as follows:
1. Prior to shipment check the tire pressure and, if required, bring it to the norm and close
the wheel valves. The tire pressure in the trucks without the tire pressure control system should be
of the rated value.
2. Upon placing the truck on a transport:
- brake the truck with its parking brake;
- throw into the first gear in the gearbox and the low gear in the transfer box;
- switch off the storage batteries.
3. The truck handling should be performed by its own power.
10.2 When transporting the trucks by rail, the truck mounted on the flat car should be
fixed by two guy ropes on the rear tow-bar and by two guy ropes on the front towing hooks; thrust
bars of 100x160x760 mm should be placed ahead of the front wheels and behind the rear wheels.
A truck placed above the coupling of the flat cars (see Fig. 140) should be secured by
two guy ropes on the rear tow-bar and by two guy ropes on the intermediate axle springs support
brackets. Thrust bars should be fixed ahead of the intermediate axle wheels and behind the rear
axle wheels. The front wheels of the truck also should be fixed by thrust bars on the outside the
wheels.

A truck placed on the flat-car according to the Fig. 141 should be secured by two guy
ropes on the rear tow-bar and by two guy ropes the front towing hooks; thrust bars of
100
х 160 х 500 mm should be fixed ahead of the front wheels and behind the rear axle wheels. The
front wheels of the truck also should be fixed by thrust bars on the outside the wheels
In every case coordinate the carrying conditions with a station of departure.
