Do not use the
НИИСС
-4 fluid without diluting it by water, because the combined effect
of concentrate, atmospheric pollution and ultraviolet rays causes changing of the truck paint-and-
lacquer coating.
Flush the glasses together with switching on the windshield wipers. Change the flush di-
rection by turning the guide in the spraying nozzle.
5.7.1.3 Cab heating. The cab is heated by air warmed up in the heater which is integrat-
ed in to the engine cooling system. The air supply to the heater radiator from the outside is adjust-
ed with the help of exterior hatch cover 12 (Figure 117) and from the cab – with the help of interi-
or hatch cover 7. If the heater fan operates, the heated air flows into air heating distributor 3 and
then into the cab through controllable deflectors.
The deflectors are controlled by lever 4. If the lever is set in its upper position, air is
supplied via deflectors 13 to blow onto the glasses; at the lever’s lower position, the air is supplied
for warming of driver and passengers feet. If the lever position is changed relative to the extreme
positions, the air quantity is also changed supplied for blowing over the glasses and for warming
the feet.
Interior hatch cover 7 is controlled by lever 5. If the lever is set in its upper position, the
hatch is opened; in the lower position, it is shut.
Most favorable positions of the cab heater controls: simultaneous air intake from the out-
side through hatch controlled by cover 12, from the cab through interior hatch shut by cover 7,
supplying the heated air onto the windshields, to the driver and passengers feet if lever 4 has been
set in the middle position. The fan switch is located on the dashboard.
Cock 11 mounted on the engine water-feed r.h. pipe should be opened, when operating
the truck at the ambient temperatures below zero. In summer disconnect the heater from the cool-
ing system by shutting off the cock 11.
If the water is used as a coolant at the ambient temperatures below zero, prior to filling
water in the cooling system, shut off the heater control cock so as to avoid the cold water intake
into heater radiator since the water may freeze in the radiator.
The cab is ventilated through hatches of the heating system, apertures of turnable and
drop-sided windows of the doors. If the natural air is insufficient for airing the cab, open the exte-
rior hatch and switch ON the fan.
Parking air* heater is mounted on the cab floor on the right side. Fuel is supplied from
the preheater tank.
When operating parking heater strictly observe the rules stated in section «Safety re-
quirements» and make use of technical description and installation instructions.
