Installing SmartPass® 

 

the appropriate section of this chapter for installing SmartPass in the correct 
location.  

Installing SmartPass on a Round Pole 

If SmartPass will be installed on a round pole, the pole must be a minimum of 5 cm 
in diameter and should extend 2.1–3 m above the pavement level. The pole should be 
installed according to local building codes. 

Figure 5-1 illustrates a front view and a top view of a SmartPass that is mounted on 
the left side of the road on a round pole. The figure shows the approximate 
measurements used when tags are mounted inside the windshield on the left side.
