Installing SmartPass®

2.

Using a Number 4 Allen wrench, remove the factory-mounted bracket from the
back of SmartPass. Keep the six rubber seals and machine screws that are on the
back of the bracket.

3.

Using the screws, washers, and rubber seals you kept in Step 2, attach the
accessory bracket to the back of SmartPass. Tighten slightly

Ensure the rubber seals are installed, or SmartPass may be damaged by moisture.

Using the four machine screws and washers that came with the accessory
bracket, attach the factory bracket to the accessory bracket, aligning the six
screw holes. Tighten only slightly because you will want to adjust later. This
subassembly allows SmartPass to be aimed left or right.

5.

Attach the pole-mount bracket to the wall, ceiling, or flat surface using
appropriate anchors.

6.

Attach the SmartPass assembly to the pole-mount bracket using machine
screws. Adjust SmartPass to point at the read zone and tighten the screws
slightly.

Figure 5-5 shows SmartPass installed on a flat surface using all three brackets.
