Spare Fiber Inserted in front Position
The fiber is manually placed into the hole, and brought to the exposed position. If this second
position is used, open the needle valve for gas flow in the second channel (front).
The needle valve is the metallic knob in front of the conditioning module.
After the spare fiber has been removed from the front position, close the needle valve in front
of the conditioning station (metallic knob).
It is not only a matter of saving gas, but letting gas flow unrestricted through this open,
second channel would reduce the gas flow in the channel for the automated conditioning.
This could result in damage to the fiber, as it is not be protected by inert gas.
The SPME Conditioning Station specifications are:

Temperature Control
— From 30 °C to 350 °C selectable in 1°C increments.

Electrical Connectors
— Two BUS connectors for daisy chaining.

Note
