Valves and Cylinder Head

COMPONENTS

REMOVAL

1) Relieve fuel pressure referring to “Fuel Pressure Relief Pro-

cedure” in Section 6.

2) Disconnect negative cable at battery.
3) Drain engine oil.
4) Drain coolant.

“A” : Apply sealant (SUZUKI BOND No. 1215,

99000-31110) to thread

8. Valve spring (outer)

16. Cylinder head bolt

1. Cylinder block

9. Valve spring (inner)

17. Cylinder head bolt (M6)

2. Cylinder head

10. Valve spring retainer

18. Water outlet pipe bolt

: Apply lock cement 99000-31110 to thread of bolt.

3. Cylinder head gasket

11. Valve cotter

Tightening torque

4. Intake valve

12. Hydraulic valve lash adjuster

Do not reuse.

5. Exhaust valve

13. Valve guide

Apply engine oil to sliding surface of each part.

6. Valve spring seat

14. Water outlet pipe

7. Valve stem seal

15. Water outlet cap
