Set the RMM IP Address
If your network does not use DHCP, or if you simply want to use static addressing, use
the instructions in this section to set a static IP address for the RMM port. Using a static
IP address ensures that you always know the IP address for the RMM port and is highly
recommended. You can also use the steps in this section to determine the IP address
that was assigned by the DHCP server.
1. Make sure that the MAC address for the RMM port on the nTier700 VTL displays in
the Device MAC address field of the Device panel.
If the computer connected to the RMM port is used to manage RMM functionality
on multiple devices, select the MAC address of the nTier700 VTL from the Device
MAC address pull-down list.
2. Configure the network settings in the Network Configuration panel.
a. Set IP auto configuration to None .
b. Enter the following information:

Address —Enter a valid Class A, B, or C IP address in the form
nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
.
Note:
If your network uses a DHCP server, the IP address that was
assigned to the RMM2 by the DHCP server is displayed in the IP
address field.
ƒ
Subnet
—Enter a valid subnet mask in the form of nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn .
ƒ
Gateway
—Enter a valid Class A, B, or C network gateway address in the form
nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn .network gateway. Enter 0.0.0.0 if your network does not
use a gateway.
3.
Enter the super user name and password in the
Super User login
and
Super User
Password
fields, respectively.
Note:
The default superuser name is “admin;” the password is
“password.” User names and passwords are case sensitive.
4. Select Setup Device to save your changes.
