to save your changes. To cancel your changes, select Cancel .
Note:
If you change the IP address of the Ethernet port that you are
using to connect to the nTier700 VTL BlueScale web interface, you
will lose your connection when you save your changes. To re-
establish the connection, enter the new IP address in your browser
and log in again.
Configuring Remote Power Management
You can use the remote power management functionality provided by the integrated
Intel Remote Management Module 2 (RMM) to power the nTier700 VTL on and off or
perform a hard reset from a remote host using a dedicated TCP/IP or Telnet connection
and a standard web browser. You can also connect using a Secure Shell (SSH) client. In
addition remote power management, the RMM software lets you perform other server
functions remotely, including configuring a KVM (Keyboard/Video/Mouse) switch and
viewing system logs.
By default, the RMM port on the nTier700 VTL uses DHCP to obtain an IP address on
the network. The Psetup utility included on the nTier Deduplication CD lets you either
configure a static IP address for the module or, if your site is using DHCP, lets you
determine the current IP address of the module. You can also use the utility to modify
the superuser name and password used to log into the module.
Note:
You can perform these configuration steps at any time after the
nTier700 VTL is installed.
After you configure the IP address, you can use a web browser to access the remote
power management functionality through the dedicated RMM Ethernet port on the
nTier700 VTL rear panel.
