Install the nTier700 VTL into the Rack
Warning:
The nTier700 VTL weighs approximately 134 lb. (60.78 kg)
when empty. Enlist at least two people to help lift the
nTier700 VTL out of and into the rack.

Position the nTier700 VTL chassis in front of the rack and lift it onto the rack shelf.
2.
Slide the chassis back into the rack until the mounting ears on each side of the
nTier700 VTL chassis are against the posts.
3.
Install one 10-32 x 1/2-inch SEM screw in each ear to secure the unit to the rack
and tighten the screws.
Installing Data Drives in the Blades
The blades in the nTier700 VTL are numbered consecutively from left to right when
viewed from the front, beginning with Blade 1 at the furthest left. For each fully-
populated blade in the nTier700 VTL, two rows of five drives are mounted in slots
along the length of the blade. The drives are mounted on drive sleds that provide a
latch to secure the drives in the blade. Each drive is numbered according to its drive
slot position in the blade, as shown in Figure 2-7.
