Using the Blade Operator Panel

Operator Panel Status Icons
Icons on the operator panel indicate the status of a component or group of
components, as described in the following table. If multiple components in a group
have a warning or error condition, the icon corresponding to the most severe condition
displays.
Note:
The status icons on the General Status, Drive Status, and Enclosure
Status screens require the BlueScale web interface to be running. If
the BlueScale web interface is not running, the status icons are all
question marks indicating unknown status.
Enclosure Status (nTier tab)
Use this screen to view the
status information about nTier700 VTL enclosure. From this
screen, you can do the following:

Access the screens to monitor blade status
ƒ
Lock or unlock the blades (see Unlock and Extend the
Blade on page 81)
ƒ
Configure how the nTier700 VTL handles a power outage
(see
Configuring the Power Recovery Behavior on
page 45).
Multiple sensors measure the temperature inside the
nTier700 VTL chassis and the blades.The minimum and
maximum temperatures displayed on the Enclosure Status
reflect the current highest and lowest temperature readings
registered by the sensors.
Icon Meaning
Component OK.
The component is functioning correctly.
Warning. The system component requires attention. Check the appropriate operator
panel screen and the BlueScale web interface for more information.
Error . A system component has experienced an error condition. Check the appropriate
operator panel screen and the BlueScale web interface for more information.
Unknown . The status of the system component cannot be determined. Make sure that
the BlueScale web interface is running. Check the appropriate operator panel screen
and the BlueScale web interface for more information.
Drive status unknown . The status of the drive cannot be determined because it is
initializing. Make sure that the BlueScale web interface is running. Check the BlueScale
web interface for more information.
