Configuring the Power Recovery Behavior
Use the following steps to configure how the nTier700 VTL behaves when power is
restored following a power loss.
Note:
You can set the Power Recovery behavior using the operator panel
on any blade.
Note:
If the server BIOS is configured to initiate power recovery, the
nTier700 VTL automatically powers on as soon as power is
restored, regardless of how you set the Power Recovery option.
1.
Using the
>
button on the operator panel, select the
Enclosure icon at the bottom of the display. The
screen changes to show the current Enclosure Status.
2. From the Enclosure Status screen, press
O
to change from display mode to show
additional information about the enclosure. A new layer of tabs displays at the
bottom of the screen. Each tab relates to some aspect of the enclosure.
3. Press

to select the Power , then press
O
.

Press
>
to select the After Power Loss option box,
then press
O
to scroll through the three power
options:

Leave Power Off (default)
—The nTier700 VTL
remains off when power is restored. You must turn
the power on again using the front panel power
switch or by issuing a power on command through
the remote power management module (RMM).
ƒ
Resume Prior State
—The nTier700 VTL returns to the same state as when power
was lost, either off or on.
ƒ
Restore Power
–The nTier700 VTL turns on when power is restored.
Note:
Regardless of the behavior you select, you can power the
nTier700 VTL on and off using the front panel power button.
5.
After you select the power recovery as required, use the
<
or
>
button to move to
the
X
, then press
O
to exit.
