Example:
- If displacement is by defect (for instance, 0.2 mm before
the zero) turn crankshaft in the opposite direction by half of
the measured value, 0.1 mm, before the zero. -
- If the displacement is by excess (for instance, 0,2 mm after the
cero), rotate crankshaft by ~¼ of turn in the rotating direction to
absorbe possible plays and then turn in the opposite direction
till leaving the needle at one half of the measured value, i.e. 0,01
mm after the zero.
NOTE:
Once equilibrium between pistons 1 and 2 has been
achieved do not move crankshaft till final tightening
of the engine flywheel.

21) Introduce synchronising tool (H) ref. 790965 in hole (I) of the
flywheel housing. It must penetrate in the milled mark ( ) of
the flywheel. Otherwise,
without moving the crankshaft turn
flywheel the amount allowed by its play with the screws (21)
till tool (H) enters in the milled mark ( ).
22) Tighten moderatelly the screws (21) and withdraw
synchronising tool (H).
23) Lock flywheel from turning by doing the appropriate
manipulations and apply final tightening of engine flywheel
screws (21) proceeding in two steps.
Tightening torque of engine flywheel screws:
• 1
st step. Tightening with torque wrench:
3 ± 0,3 Kg-m (30 ± 3 Nm)
• 2 nd step. Angular tightening: 90° ± 2°
24) Install plate (32) with the support bearing of the main shaft,
tighten screws to the specified torque and withdraw the tool
locking engine flywheel.
Tightening torque for screws of the support plate of
main shaft:
1,8 ÷ 2,8 Kg-m (18 ÷ 28 Nm)
