6A-138 ENGINE REPAIR

Timing and components of the front part side
installation

1) Installation water pump (48) with new gasket . Apply specified

tightening torque to screws (49).

Tightening torque for water pump screws:
5 Kg-m (50 Nm)

NOTE:
Apply sealant ref. 790961 to the first 15 mm of the thread
screws fixing water pump.

2) Install new oil-seals (50) and elastic rings (51) in connecting

tube (47) e introduce the tube in the thermostat box (46).

3) Connect thermostat box (46) to water pump (48) using tube

(47) and fix thermostat box to cylinder head. Tighten screws
to the specified tightening torque.

Tightening torque for thermostat box screws:
1,8 Kg-m (18 Nm)

4) Install tubes adapter at the water pump inlet. Apply to nuts

the specified tightening torque.

Tightening torque for the inlet tubes of the water pump
screws : 2,5 Kg-m (25 Nm)

5) Introduce reaction cylinder (52) into water pump housing.
6) Install protection (53) and fixed tensor (54) of the timing belt.

Tighten screws to the specified tightening torque.

Tightening torque for fixed tensor nuts :
2,5 Kg-m (25 Nm)

Cylinder head cover installation

9) Fill the cavities (44) between rear cover (45) and cylinder

head with impermealising putty ref. 790963.

10) Install a new gasket (43) on cylinderhead cover (42).
11) Apply impermeabilising putty ref. 790963 ( ~10 gr) at cover

angles.

12) Cylinder head (42) and apply specified tightening torque to

nuts.

Tightening torque for the cylinder head cover nuts:
1 Kg-m (10 Nm)
