6C-50 ENGINE FUEL AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM

INTERCOOLER

CAUTION:
• Place the vehicle in a suitable work place, free from

dust and air currents which may carry particles.

• Before carrying out any intervention on the system,

remember PRECAUTION IN CLEANING AND
REPAIRING AIR INTAKE (see 6C-47)

Removal

1) Disconnect the battery.
2) Disconnect the intercooler air intake and outlet hoses (3)

and (4) where they join the intercooler. Plug the hoses and
intercooler intake and outlet.

3) Remove the four setscrews (2) and remove intercooler (1).

CAUTION:
Avoid hitting or scraping the intercooler so as not
to damage the refrigeration panel.

Intallation

1) Install in reverse order to dismantling. Check for good state

of the air conduct hoses and firmly tighten the fixing clamps.
If any defects are found in the hoses, or the clamps look
worn, replace.

Intercooler exterior cleaning

Intercooler exterior (1) cleaning should be carried out with this
fitted in the vehicle.
Only use pressurised water, compressed air and a brush which
does not damage the refrigeration panel.

CAUTION:
Do not use sharp objects to clean the intercooler as
this can irreparably damage the refrigeration pa-
nel.
