6A-142 ENGINE REPAIR

4) Take away cap located in the locking screw of the injection

pump and fit adapter (O) ref. 790966.

Be sure that the probe of the adapter make contact with the

distributor piston of the pump.

5) Install dial gauge (P) on the adapter (O) and fix it in such a

way that the needle undertakes a preadvance of about 3

mm.

6) Turn slowly crankshaft in opposite direction to rotation till

the dial gauge (P) indicates B.T.C. of the distribuitor piston
of the pump. Then, put to zero dial gauge.

NOTE:
Before turning crankshaft, withdraw tool of
synchronisation of the drive gear of the auxiliary organs
group

7) Turn slowly crankshaft in the rotation sense till introducing

tool (H) ref. 790965 in milling mark ( ) of the engine
flywheel and hole (59) of the drive gear (58) of the crankshaft.
Be oriented downwards. Then, distributor piston of the
injection pump must have had undertaken a course of 1,10
± 0,05 mm read in dial gauge (P). If the course is different
turn the body of the injection pump in its coverers till achieving
the specified value.
Do not change this position during the tightening of the fixing
nuts of the injection pump.

Course of the distributor piston of the injection pump:
1,10 ± 0,05 mm

8) Apply specified tightening torque to fixing nuts of the injections

pump. Lower nut must be tightened with special spanner
(Q) ref. 790977.

Tightening torque for fixing nuts of injecting pump:
2,5 Kg-m (25 Nm)

9) Disconnect supply of device K.S.B (72).
10) Remove dial gauge and adaptor tool. Assemble cap (74) of

the screw locking the pump and tighten moderately.

11) Withdraw tool (H) of synchronisatión of the engine flywheel.
12) Install injector and piper (see a 6A-32)
