8.6 Nebulization
CAUTION
•
Remove the nebulizer after nebulization,otherwise
the ventilation may be affected.
•
The remaining nebulizer drug will affect the
surrouding air.
NOTE
• For adults or pediatric patients, the nebulization
flow of ventilator is zero when the inspiratory flow
is less than 15 L/min.
The nebulization function powers a standard inline
nebulizer for delivery of prescribed medications in
the ventilator circuit. When nebulization is active, the
nebulizer flow is synchronized with the inspiratory
phase of each breath. Nebulization can be activated in
all modes of ventilation.
To start nebulization as follows:
1. Select the [
Function
] ->[
Maneuvers
]
->[
Nebulization
].
2. Set up the time period for nebulization or select
continuous nebulization.
3. Press the [
Start Nebulization
] key to begin
nebulization. To terminate nebulization press the
key again.
8.7 P0.1
The airway occlusion pressure (P0.1) maneuver is used
to determine the patient’s neuromuscular drive to
breathe. The P0.1 results are based on a four-breath
average. This maneuver cannot be attempted while any
alarm is active.
