The benefits of the HD mount:
The shaft encoder is protected and mounted in about the center of the swinging link.
The measuring wheel is mounted to a separate shaft at the head end of the swinging
link.
Due to the particularly robust bearings of the measuring wheel shaft at the head end of
the swinging link considerable more force can be accepted than is the case with the
shaft encoder shaft. Therefore, this mount is particularly suitable for applications in
rough operating environments (e.g. in saw mills, in chipboard production, the
construction material industry, etc.)
The shaft of the shaft encoder is coupled to the measuring wheel via a toothed belt.
This protects the encoder from impacts, such as from inaccurately guided products.
With the synchronizing disks and belts that belong to the delivery scope the the
increases/reductions between the measuring wheel and shaft encoder can be changed.
The bearing housing has a clearly smaller diameter than the encoder. The larger
distance acquired this way between the measuring wheel diameter and the outer
contour of the shaft bearings enable considerably more assembly opportunities.
The assembly on the swinging link of the shaft encoder results in a larger distance of
the shaft encoder to the conveyor belt. Assembly is therefore possible if no other
assembly is possible.
Standard REA JET measuring wheels with boreholes for 7 mm shafts can be used.
