3.2.2.5 Installation of the parallelogram
The use of the REA JET parallelogram enables the automatic adjustment of distances between the
product to be marked and the HR print head or print head group. The following list contains some
examples that may make this necessary:
Inaccurately conveyed / guided / aligned products;
Product with differing thicknesses / widths in unsorted production (e.g. board and strip
production in the wood industry);
Products with a large manufacturing tolerance (e.g. dispatch cartons in the consumer goods
industry, in which accurate adhesion is not a priority for cost reasons).
In all of these cases, the best results can be achieved with the REA JET parallelogram, and the
distance between the stripper plate and the product is kept as low (and as even) as possible. As
described in 3.2.2.2, a distance of 3 mm and for prints of 1D and 2D codes of 1.5 mm should under
no circumstances be exceeded. A greater distance would result in a considerable loss in print
quality.
Figure 92: Scope of delivery of the parallelogram
The max. stroke of the REA JET Parallelogram is 62 mm. The
parallelogram should be used for max. 55 mm of distances to be
evened out.
The print head or print head group are installed on the parallelogram the same way as the retainer
rod. The centering element is also used in this case.
