4.2.22.5 Function and parameterization of the I/O multiplier
The contacts of the 6 digital inputs and the 4 digital outputs of the I/O connection for the REA JET
HR
pro
2K/4K are wired 1:1 to the contacts of the three I/O outputs (SPS, Sensor and Signal
Tower) of the I/O multiplier (connected in parallel). The connection of the function of the contacts
for the supply voltage (UB+ and mass) of the three I/O connections is defined via so-called
jumpers. These jumpers are located on the circuit board of the IO multiplier. The jumpers are
configured in the delivery version so that the function of the connected components corresponds to
the marking of the respective I/O connection. The function of the I/O multiplier is only ensured if the

2K/4K internal I/O circuit is supplied with voltage. This can be done in the delivery
version of the jumpers of the I/O multiplier as follows:
Solution 1:
Use of at least on active component, e.g. an SPS. Feeding of external supply voltage to the
I/O connection marked with "SPS". Here the
UB+
must be connected to the contact
O
and
mass
to the contact
S
.
Solution 2:
There is no external power supply available, as e.g. the I/O multiplier is only used to
connect several passive components. Supply of REA JET HR
pro
2K/4K internal I/O circuit
with the REA JET HR
pro
2K/4K internal power supply. For this purpose, the following
bridges have to be set on the I/O connection marked with "SPS". For

and N
, as well as for
mass
, the contacts
S and T
have to be connected (bridged). In the
delivery version of the I/O multiplier, the bridges only have the needed effect on the I/O
connection marked with "SPS". For this solution e.g. an I/O plug can be used that have
been pre-assembled with the corresponding bridges.
The first solution is used if e.g. a REA JET HR
pro
2K/4K should be controlled by an external SPS
(with own power suppler/power supply unit). But simultaneously e.g. the connection of a signal
lamp offered by REA JET on the control device is required.
The second solution is required if the I/O multiplier is only to be used to e.g. connect a signal lamp
and a product sensor (both passive components) to the digital inputs and outputs of the REA JET
HR
pro
2K/4K. Here the REA JET HR
pro
2K/4K internal circuit must be supplied via the bridges to
the connection marked with "SPS".
4.2.22.6 Position and function of the jumper of the I/O multiplier
As described in the previous sub-item, the I/O multiplier can be used to trigger all standard
applications in the configuration of the delivery version. For special application that may require a
change to the jumper, the position and function of the jumper are explained on the following page.
The jumpers are solder bridges. A change in this setting can
only be performed by qualified specialists. Besides the
qualification to change the hardware, these specialist
employees must also be able to ascertain the technical
consequences (of the changed function).
The changed jumper setting must be documented on the
housing of the I/O multiplier.
