Cleaning and Maintenance

Only perform maintenance that is specifically described in this user manual.
Important
: The following maintenance procedures must be carried out to ensure reliable operation
of the QIAcube Connect MDx:
Regular maintenance: after
each
protocol run
Daily maintenance: after the last protocol run of the day
Monthly maintenance: every month
Periodic maintenance: when necessary; at least every 6 months
Optionally, these procedures may be performed to check and ensure the reliability of operation of
the QIAcube Connect MDx:
UV Run: reduces pathogen and nucleic acid contamination
Tightness Test: ensures the tightness of the tip adapter (e.g., after O-Ring change)
The software provides step-by-step guidance under

for the maintenance
procedures listed above, except for the regular maintenance.
Following these procedures ensures that the QIAcube Connect MDx is free from dust and liquid
spills.
Select the cleaning agent according to the objective of the cleaning procedure, the sample material
used and the downstream assay.

When using ethanol or ethanol-based liquids on the QIAcube Connect MDx,
handle such liquids carefully and in accordance with the required safety
regulations. If liquid has been spilled, wipe it off and leave the QIAcube
Connect MDx hood open to allow flammable vapors to disperse.
Before using any cleaning or decontamination methods except those recommended by the
manufacturer, users should check with the manufacturer that the proposed method will not damage
the equipment.
