3 DISASSEMBLY
Main and secondary shaft disassembly:
• Position the gearbox on the special tool “A” (code 14
92 96 00);
• Make sure the gearbox is in neutral;
• Drain all the gearbox oil following the instructions
described in chapter 2, section D;
• Remove the butt joint “B” by unscrewing the fastening
screws “C”;
• Remove the universal joint by unscrewing the high
resistance screws.
• Detach the clutch rod “D”, the thrust bearing “E” and
the inner and outer bodies “F”;
• Remove the transmission cover “G” by unscrewing the
10 fastening screws “H”;
• Unscrew the restraining ring nuts “I” for the secondary
shafts using the special tool (code 01 91 37 30);
• Unscrew the restraining ring nut “L” from the main shaft
using the special tool (code 01 91 38 30);
• Remove the shimming and retaining washers from the
ends of the shafts;
• Remove the gearings “M” from the secondary shafts,
universal joint side;
• Locking the clutch internal body in the special tool “N”
(code 30 91 28 10) unscrew the retaining ring nut for
the main shaft using tool “O” (code 01 91 34 30);
• Detach the internal body of the clutch “P”;
• Remove the odometer transmission “Q” and keep the
striker washer positioned inside the gearbox.
