The differences between this tutorial Job and a typical real application
are:

Real world applications are usually triggered by real world inputs.
•
Most applications are strobed.
The important properties on the DataMatrix Tool properties page to
consider are described below.
General
•
Cell Size — For optimal performance, the calculated value should be
set to five upon a successful learn.
•
Tool Time Out (ms) — This value is the time the tool will use to
process. If you set Search Direction to Horizontal, Vertical, Horizontal
then Vertical or Vertical then Horizontal, the time used by each probe
direction will be half the time set by this parameter. Furthermore,
when Robust Locate is enabled (checked), the system may use up to
three times the timeout value before timing out.
