After manual reset if the fault still present, the fault will be generated
again.
FAULT
RECOVERY
Autometic when Traction Alternator current is reduced below 100A and
Master Handle is brought to IDLE. Auto fault recovery is permitted for 3
times in one hour. There after Manual reset is required.
PROBABLE
CAUSES
1. Defective FCP
2. Any foreign materials in between REV or BKT contacts cuasing high
current to flow
3. Defective current sensor
FAULT
ISOLATION
1. Check for any disconnected / over heated wires at the FCP. Identify
and reconnect the wires.
2. Check BKT and REV contacts. Remove any foreign materials if
avialble.
3. Apply loco brakes and ensure that the brakes are physically applied.
Take all precausions required to move a locomotive.
4. Set up the locomotive to motoring and move the master handle to
notch 1.
5. If the current indicated on the display is with in limits of 1
st
notch
current, then the fault is transient.
6. If the current indicated on the display is abnormally high with out
any jerk, then the current sensor is faulty. Check and replace the
Traction alternator current sensor.
7. If the current idicated is abnormally high with heavy jerk, PWM
output card is defect.
8. Replace the card and check once again.
