forward or reverse while the master handle is in notch / braking
zone.
2. Loco is being controlled from more than one source.
3. Defective wiring / jumper cable
Most probably this fault is of transient nature. The fault may not be
available at the time of investigation.
FAULT
ISOLATION
1. If loco is coupled with another loco, remove the MU jumper cable.
2. Shut down the engine while doing the following tests.
3. Check for proper mechanical interlocking of both control stands.
Reverser Handle should not move when the master handle /
selector handle is set to notch / brake position. If so replace the
defective master controller.
4. Keep both the reverser handles in neutral position.
5. Check the status of Green LEDs 0 & 1 on the digital input card MDIP
16 in slot 9.
6. If either Green LED 0 or Green LED 1 is glowing, then defective
wiring. Identify which wire is getting wrong supply and isolate.
7. If both Green LEDs are OFF.
8. Apply loco brakes and ensure loco brakes are physically applied.
9. Set the Reverser Handle to Forward direction on Short hood control
stand.
10. Move the master handle to Notch 1 and switch ON both GF
switches.
11. Green LED 0 and Green LED 7 should glow on the digital input card
MDIP 16 in slot 9 and corresponding yellow LEDs also should glow.
12. Green LED 1 yellow LED 1 should be OFF.
13. Set the master handle to IDLE, RH to reverse direction and open
the notch to 1.
14. Green LED 0 should go off and Green LED 1 should glow.
15. Repeat the test on the other control stand.
