After manual reset if the fault still present, the fault will be generated
again.
FAULT
RECOVERY
Automatic when BKT-B Aux. Contact is closed.
PROBABLE
CAUSES
1. Low control air pressure causing sluggish operations of BKT.
2. BKT partially moved and stopped.
3. BKT-B auxiliary contact is bad.
4. Defective wiring.
5. Connector at MEP-660 (DI 16-DI 31) is slack
6. Digital input card MDIP 16 in slot No. 10 defective.
FAULT
ISOLATION
1. Check and adjust control air pressure to 5Kgs./Sq.Cm.
2. Manually operate BKT magnet valves to change the BKT position
between braking and motoring.
3. BKT contact should change their position freely with out any
obstruction. Ensure the status of the Green LEDs 12 & 13 on the
digital input card MDIP16 in slot no.10 toggles with respect to BKT
position.
4. If the BKT is moving towards Braking position and stopping in
between:
A. Check the Air hose connection to magnet valve. If air is leaking
or the pipe is blocked, change the air hose connection.
B. Press the armature plate of the magnet valve and check for any
Air leaking from the Magnet valve / Air cylinder gasket / piston
packing. If air is leaking, change the magnet valve / gasket /
piston packing.
C. Check free operation of Paul assembly by operating the BKT
with ‘L’ rod. If the BKT is not operating with normal force
change the pawl assembly.
5. If the BKT is operating manually:
6. Check the BKT-B auxiliary contact for proper operation.
7. If the contact is properly closing in braking side and still the fault is
logged:
A. Set the display mode to ‘Manual Test for Inputs’ under Test
mode Menu.
B. Key in 28 + ‘Enter’ key to test the status of the BKT-B feed
back.
C. Manually operate the BKT-B feedback auxiliary contact to make
and break the contact.
D. Observe the status of the Green LED 12 on the Digital input card
MDIP 16 in slot 10 and feed back position status on the display
unit.
E. The Green LED and the status on the display unit should toggle
as per the auxiliary contact position. LED should glow with
contact closed and status on display unit should be ON.
8. If Green LED and the status on display unit are not toggling as per
