FAULT MESSAGE
SLBR ckt Open. Run Auto/Manual Tests
RESTRICTIONS
No Self-load box test
ALARM BELL
5 sec.
RESET LEVEL
LOW, Manual
If the fault condition is still present when cleared manually, the fault
will be generated again.
FAULT
RECOVERY
Automatic when SLBR auxiliary contact is closed.
PROBABLE
CAUSES
This message will log only after selecting self-load test through Display
unit.
1. Defective SLBR relay (bad contact of feedback interlock).
2. Defective wiring.
3. Slackness of Connector of cable (ID: AZ) at MEP-660.
4. Defective digital output card MLSD 16 in slot 15.
5. Slackness of connector of cable (ID: AX) at MEP-660
6. Defective digital input card MDIP 16 in slot 13.
7. Control air pressure is low or zero and none of the SLBC contactors
picked up.
FAULT
ISOLATION
Select self-load test option under Test menu option from Display unit.
1. Check the status of SLBR relay. If SLBR relay is not picking up,
check the supply at SLBR relay coil terminals.
A. If the voltage is more than 65V, and still the relay is not picking
up then the SLBR relay is defective. Replace the relay.
B. If the voltage is zero, check the voltage between wire 13 at coil
terminal and wire 4 of locomotive.
a. If the voltage is zero, check the continuity of 13-wire loop
coming to SLBR relay. If necessary replace the open
circuited / wrong wiring.
b. If voltage is more than 65V, check the voltage between
SLBRCL wire and wire 50 of locomotive.
i)
If the voltage is zero, check slackness of connector of
cable (Cable ID: AZ) at MEP-660. If the connector is
slack tighten the same.
ii)
Check continuity of wire SLBRCL from SLBR coil
terminal to MEP-660 (Cable ID: AZ Pin-N). If
necessary replace the cable.
iii)
If continuity of wire SLBRCL is OK and still the
voltage is zero, MLSD 16 card in slot 15 might be
defective. Replace the MLSD 16 card.
2. If SLBR is picked up and none of the SLBC contactors picked up,
Check the supply across any magnet valve of SLBC contactor.
A. If the voltage is more than 65V, check for control air pressure.
If it is less than 5 Kg/cm
″
adjust the conttol air pressure to 5
Kg/cm
″
.
B. Check up voltage across other magnet calve coils of SLBC
contactors.
a. If voltage is zero, check the voltage between wire 13SLB
and wire 4 of locomotive.
b. If voltage is zero, SLBR interlock is bad or supply to 13 is
missing. Identify wrong wiring or replace SLBR relay if
