FAULT MESSAGE DEB Engine Breaker Off.
RESTRICTIONS
Only indication, there is no restriction.
ALARM BELL
30 seconds.
RESET LEVEL
LOW, Manual
If the fault condition is still present when cleared manually, the fault
will be generated again.
FAULT
RECOVERY
Automatic when the DEB breaker is switched ON.
PROBABLE
CAUSES
1. DEB (Eng) Breaker is tripped/switched OFF.
2. Faulty wiring.
3. Defective digital input card MDIP16 in slot No. 13.
FAULT
ISOLATION
1. Switch ON DEB (Eng) if tripped / Switched OFF.
2. Check the status of Green LED 5 on the Digital input card MDIP16
in slot No. 13
3. If the green LED 5 is not glowing, check the voltage between wire-
50 at the breaker and locomotive 4 wire.
A. If the voltage is zero, check the wire continuity of the 50-wire
loop connected to breaker.
4. If the voltage at wire-50 is more than 65 V, check the voltage
between wire 73A at the breaker and the locomotive 4-wire.
A. If the voltage is zero even though DEB (eng.) is ON, then the
breaker is defective. Replace the breaker.
5. If the voltage at 73A (breaker terminal) is more than 65V, check
the voltage between 73A at backside TB and locomotive 4 wire.
A. If the voltage is zero, the wire 73A connected from breaker to
TB is open circuited. Replace the wire.
6. If the Voltage at 73A (backside TB) is more than 65V,
A. Check the slack ness of the connector at MEP-660 for the cable
ID: AX. If slack tighten the connector.
B. Check the continuity of the wire 73A from TB to the connector
pin- F. If necessary replace the cable.
C. If still Green LED on the digital input card is not glowing, the
digital input card MDIP16 in slot No. 13 might be defective.
Replace the card and check up.
7. If the green LED is glowing, and corresponding Yellow LED is not
glowing on the card:
A. Either LED or the card might be defective. Replace the card and
check up.
