4.15 INCONVENIENCES, CAUSES AND REMEDIES
The machine fails to start even with the PTO engaged.
The mowing rotor stops.
The rotor fails to reach the rotation rate required for mowing grass.
Excessively noisy mowing head.
The hydraulic circuit gets too hot.
The arm fails to remain in the required positions.
The on-off cocks on the pumps’ suction circuit have not been opened.
The feather key between the PTO shaft and the overdrive’s internal pair of gears
could be broken.
The mowing rotor has struck against too much vegetation: the maximum pres-
sure valve has activated.
Something may have wrapped around and blocked the mowing rotor.
The joint that connects the hydraulic motor to the rotor has broken.
The side transmission belt of the mowing head has broken (if installed).
The control cable of the rotor driving valve gear may be blocked or excessive play
may have formed.
The rotation speed of the PTO is not compatible with the speed required by the
machine’s system.
A fuse may have burnt out in the electric box.
Imperfectly lubricated bearings.
Excessive and irregular wear on the cutting tools.
One of the tools has been lost.
Excessive wear on the transmission joint.
Unbalanced mowing rotor.
Filter/s clogged.
Hydraulic oil level low.
Mowing rotor too near the ground.
Pressure limiting valve half-blocked or worn.
Deteriorated cylinder seals.
Dirt in the hydraulic circuit.
Defective valve system.
Control lever cables with excessive play.
Immediately disengage the PTO, switch off the vehicle’s engine, remove the ignition
key and apply the parking brake. Now make sure that all the cocks are open.
Make sure that the overdrive functions correctly. (*)
Immediately raise the arm so as to release the cutting tool from the vegetation that is
keeping it blocked.
Switch off the vehicle’s engine, remove the ignition key and apply the parking brake,
then attempt to free it.
Replace the joint and key. (*)
Replace the belt and adjust the tension.
Check and lubricate the cable. Make sure that the cable has not been caught up or
crushed. Check the lever adjustment. (*)
Make sure that the spinning speed of the vehicle’s PTO is the one indicated on the
identification plate of the machine and on the relative decal.
Make sure that the fuses have not burnt out. (*)
Immediately grease the supports and replace the bearings if necessary. (*).
Replace all the tools.
Assemble the missing tools.
Replace the hydraulic motor’s transmission key and joint. (*)
Have the component balanced by a specialized workshop or contact
the Manufacturer.
Replace the filter (never wash or blow it clean).
Top up using oil of the recommended type until reaching the required level.
Adjust the bearing roller so that the tools are unable to touch the ground.
Replace the valve. (*)
Replace the seals of the cylinders that lower. (*)
Replace the filter and oil if it is excessively dirty.
Contact the Manufacturer.
Check the adjustment of the control lever cables. (*).
