The machine must be warmed up until the operating fluids have

reached the required temperatures. Additional warm-up time may

be required at ambient temperatures below 0 °C (32 °F). If the

hydraulic system is still slow to respond after the warm-up period,

work for an additional 15 minutes at reduced speed.

Read out the

“coolant temperature”

indicator on the

SENCON.

Read out the

“hydraulic oil temperature”

indicator on the

SENCON.

Allow the engine to run at idle for 3 minutes after starting.

Gradually increase the diesel engine speed up to the nominal

speed without load.

Continue warming up the engine until the following tempera-

ture values are displayed on the SENCON:

Hydraulic oil: 40° C (104° F)

Coolant: 35 °C (95 °F)

The machine can be operated at full engine speed.

Grey

Orange

Red

The coolant temperature is

in the permissible range.

The coolant temperature is

about to exceed the per-

missible range.

The coolant temperature is

too high.

Grey

Orange

Red

The hydraulic oil tempera-

ture is below 80 °C.

The hydraulic oil tempera-

ture is between 80 °C and

85 °C.

The hydraulic oil tempera-

ture is above 85 °C.

7.8 Checking functions

Check that the safety equipment is complete and properly

mounted.

Protective devices include engine hatches, doors, protective

gratings, cladding, fire extinguishers and first-aid kits.

Check the emergency stop switch for functionality.

Check the LML traffic light for functionality.

Check the horn for functionality.

Start all lifting limit switches and check for shutdown.
