14 RS-485 Interface
The CS 1000 possession an RS-485 interface which is to be used as a two-wire interface in half-
duplex operation.
The number of CS 1000 is restricted to 26 per RS-485 bus, as HECOM bus addressing is done via
letters A–Z.
The length of the bus line and the size of the terminating resistance are depending on the quality of
cable used.
The graphic below shows several CS 1000 connected via the RS-485 interface and then connected in
turn to a PC.
