228 Vehicle care

30. Tighten the nuts firmly with the

wrench in the pattern shown.

The required torque is 140 Nm

(Newton metres).

31. Position the jack under the spare

wheel carrier.

25. Remove any dirt or rust from the

wheel nuts and studs, mounting

surfaces and spare wheel.

26. Place the spare wheel on the

wheel mounting surface.

27. Replace the wheel nuts by hand

and lightly tighten with a wheel

wrench.

28. Turn the jack handle

anticlockwise to lower the

vehicle.

29. Remove the jack and wheel

wrench.
