In active select mode:
• Moving the shift lever backwards
(-) and forwards (+) can make
rapid gear shifts simple.
Push the lever forwards (+) once
to shift up one gear.
Pull the lever backwards (-) once
to shift down one gear.
• Only the six forward gears can
be selected.
• Downward shifts are made
automatically when the vehicle
slows down.
• When the vehicle stops, first gear
is automatically selected.
• To maintain the required levels of
vehicle performance and safety,
the system may not execute
certain gear shifts when the shift
lever is operated.
• Before driving away from a stop
on a slippery road, push the shift
lever forwards (+) into second
gear for a smooth start.
Pull the shift lever backwards (-)
to return to first gear.
Fuel economy mode
To improve the vehicle’s fuel
economy:
1. Press
ECO
.
The button is located on the
passenger side of the shift lever.
The eco light on the instrument
cluster illuminates.
2. To turn fuel economy mode off,
press
ECO
again.
When fuel economy mode is on:
• The transmission will upshift
sooner and downshift later.
• The torque converter will lock up
sooner and stay on longer.
• The accelerator pedal will be less
sensitive.
• Under deceleration, fuel shut
off to the engine will be more
aggressive.
Note
Do not use fuel economy mode
while towing.
Active select mode
• To enable active select mode,
move the shift lever to position
D
then push the lever to the left.
• To return to position
D
, push the
shift lever back to the right.
Active select:
• Can be enabled when the vehicle
is stationary or in motion.
• Allows gearshifts with the
accelerator pedal depressed.
