Engine oil
• Keep the engine oil at correct
levels.
• Check the oil level at regular
intervals, such as when
refuelling.
• If
illuminates, check the oil
level immediately. See Engine oil
pressure light on page 67.
Checking fluid level
The engine must be at operating
temperature and the ignition turned
off for 10 minutes, to allow the oil to
settle.
1. Park the vehicle on a level
surface.
2. Remove the dipstick by pulling
up on the yellow handle and
wipe clean.
3. Insert the dipstick firmly.

depending on engine variant.
G. Add mark
H. Upper mark
4. Wait for a few seconds then
remove and read the oil level.
The level should be between the
area/marks (G) and (H).
Add oil if the level is at
area/mark (G).
5. Insert the dipstick firmly.
Adding engine oil

1. Remove the engine oil cap (C).
2. Add enough oil to reach within
the area/mark (H).
3. Wait a few minutes.
4. Check the oil level again.
5. Replace the engine oil cap and
dipstick.
Note
Use only engine oil that is approved
to the dexos™ specification or
an equivalent engine oil of the
appropriate viscosity and grade.
Engine oils approved to the dexos™
specification will show
on the container.
Failure to use the recommended
engine oil or equivalent may result in
engine damage not covered by the
New Vehicle Voluntary Warranty.
