CLI Command Access
This procedure allows authorized users password-protected access to enabled terminal server ports
using the SCIP’s command line interface. Using CLI, you do not need to disconnect a Telnet session
to manage multiple terminal server devices.
1. Make a craft connection to the SCIP, or start a Telnet session at the DOS prompt by typing:
telnet
[SCIP IP address]
2. Login to the SCIP with a valid username and password. If necessary, override any other Telnet
CLI session in progress as instructed by the screen prompt.
3. If needed, review the status of any attached terminal devices, as shown in the example below.
Press the spacebar to view the lower portion of the display.
4. To manage a specific terminal server device, type:
connect term
[#]
5. With a successful connection, the following prompt appears.
MasterSCES-18> ^^
Remote SC-IP> connect term8
Connecting to term8 (SCES)
Use "^^^" as escape sequence
6. Press the Enter key to access the management interface of this terminal server device.
7. When complete, press the escape sequence
^^^
to return to the SCIP CLI.
Remote SC-IP> show term-serv
