5.2. Description of menu

optimizes  the  FFT  width  within  100kHz.  The  larger  is  the  FFT  width,  the  faster  is  FFT  spectrum 
measurement, but the dynamic range performance will be affected. 

Under FFT sweep, the FFT width setup limits the maximum value for center frequency step of each tune. For 
example, if  [<100Hz] is selected, the maximum value for center freq step of each tune is 100Hz. As the FFT 
width  gets larger, the  count  of  instrument  center frequencies  get  smaller  when performing  measurement  of 
same frequency scope, and the response measurement gets faster. Therefore, to improve measurement speed, 
you can manually change the FFT width.

 to turn on or off Gate. When the Gate function is on, the signal/spectrum analyzer 

will sweep and refresh traces based on the set Gate Method in combination with related gate parameters 
and Gate Source signals. Not all types of gating are available for all measurements. 

The  Gate  function  is  unavailable  (grayed  out)  when:  the  FFT  Sweep  Type  is  manually  selected;  the  Gate 
Method is LO or Video; Sweep is manually selected; and the Marker Count is ON. 

The Gate ON/OFF status is displayed on the status zone at top right corner of the window.
