Communicating with Lynx

The Lynx supports Ethernet (TCP/IP) network connections over Ethernet, USB, and
Serial (RS-232C) interfaces. Refer to the Communications Setup Appendix starting on
page 150 for details.
The Lynx DSA is shipped with factory 'default' settings including a special
administrator ID as indicated below. If your settings have been misplaced or
forgotten, the Lynx system may be restored to factory settings, using procedures
found in Factory Reset Control on page 23.
Lynx Access – Default Settings
The default settings for each connection method are:

To use any of the Lynx’s communication interfaces, the appropriate cable must be
connected between a host computer and the Lynx. Ethernet is the recommended
method of connecting to the Lynx because of its performance and ease of
connectivity; as such, the Ethernet connection method is emphasized in this
document. The Communications Setup Appendix starting on page 150 describes the
initial setup and basic operation of each of these interfaces.
In order to access the Lynx DSA for the first time, you must first connect to it
(preferably using an Ethernet connection), then configure the selected computer
interface to access the Lynx at the appropriate default IP address described above. If
using USB or RS-232, additional drivers and/or software will be required before
communication with the Lynx can be established. Quick Setup instructions are found
at the beginning of the chapter Getting Started on page 8. For complete details, see
