NOTICE

Do not connect positive (+) to
negative (-) or you will get a
short that would damage the
battery and possibly other
parts.

Do not connect the negative (-)
cable to the negative (-)
terminal on the dead battery
because this can cause sparks.

4. Connect the positive (+) (red)

cable to the positive (+)
terminal on the discharged
battery. Use the remote
positive (+) terminal if the
vehicle has one.

5. Don't let the other end touch

metal, then connect it to the
positive (+) terminal of the
good battery.

Use the remote positive (+)
terminal if the vehicle has one.

6. Now take the negative (-)

(black) cable. First connect it
to the good battery's
negative (-) terminal. Use the
remote negative (-) terminal if
the vehicle has one. Don't let
the other end touch metal yet.

NOTICE

Do not connect a negative
cable to the engine control
module, its mounting bracket,
or any cables that attach to the
engine control module bracket.

Otherwise, the engine control
module could be damaged.

Always use the remote negative
ground location instead of the
terminal on your vehicle's
battery.

Do not connect the
