Service and Maintenance
. . . 432
CAUTION
If you add different sized
wheels, and then if tires not
recommended for those wheels
are selected, your vehicle may
not provide an acceptable level
of performance and safety.
You may increase the chance
that you will crash and suffer
serious injury.
Only use GM specific wheel
and tire systems developed for
your vehicle, and have them
properly installed by a GM
certified technician.
CAUTION
Never drive faster than the
speed for which your tires are
rated, regardless of the legal
speed limit. If you anticipate
driving your vehicle at high
speeds frequently and/or for
prolonged periods of time,
check with your vehicle/tire
dealer for the proper type of
tires to use for your specific
driving and weather conditions.
CAUTION
If you use bias-ply tires on your
vehicle, the wheel rim flanges
could develop cracks after
many miles of driving. A tire
and/or wheel could fail sudden-
ly, causing a crash. Use only
radial-ply tires with the wheels
on your vehicle.
TIRE CHAINS OR SIMILAR
TRACTION DEVICES
Use traction devices only when
you have to.
Use only 11 mm traction cables
that meet or exceed SAE Class "S"
requirements and that are the
correct size for your tires (285/
35ZR19, P235/R18 or 235/
50ZR18). Install them on the rear
tires as tightly as possible with the
ends securely fastened.
NOTICE
Do not install traction devices
on the front tires.
