7.16 Measuring the gas supply dynamic
pressure

Close the gas isolating valve on the back of the boiler.
V
Remove blanking plug from testing point for gas supply
dynamic pressure on gas valve inlet flange.
V
Fit gas pressure testing nipple.
V
Fit pressure gauge hose onto pressure testing nipple.
V
Slowly open the gas isolating valve on the back of the
boiler.
V
Measure the gas supply dynamic pressure with the
burner running.
Record the reading taken in the commissioning log.
– If the gas supply dynamic pressure is inadequate,
contact the gas company responsible for the supply.
– If the gas supply dynamic pressure is too high, install
an additional gas pressure regulator upstream of the
gas valve.

Remove the pressure gauge hose.
V
Carefully refit and tighten blanking plug in testing point
for gas supply dynamic pressure on the gas valve inlet
flange.

Turn on the gas isolating valve on the back of the boiler.
7.17 Checking for leaks during operation

With the burner running, use a foaming leak detecting
agent to test all joints along the entire burner gas sup-
ply route, e.g.:
– Blanking plug in testing point for gas supply dynamic
pressure
– Unions, etc.
The agent must be approved for gas leak testing.

Risk of system damage due to
short-circuits.

Before testing for leaks, cover the areas at
risk, e.g. the internal water pressure sen-
sor and the return sensor on the boiler re-
turn.

Do not spray leak detector onto cable en-
tries, plugs or electrical connecting leads.
Do not allow it to drip onto them either.
V
To avoid corrosion, carefully wipe off the
leak detector afterwards.
