Proximity Switch Functions
Proximity switch /#1 mower
This is mounted near the fulcrum of the #1
lift arm, and detects the #1 mower unit up
position.
It controls the rotation and stop position of
the front mower unit reel cutter.
Proximity switch /#2 mower
This is mounted near the fulcrum of the #2
lift arm, and detects the #2 mower unit up
position.
It controls the rotation and stop position of
the rear mower unit reel cutter.
Proximity switch /#4 mower
This is mounted near the fulcrum of the #4
lift arm, and detects the #4 mower unit up
position.
It controls the rotation and stop position of
the front mower unit reel cutter, the down
start position of rear mower unit, and the up
stop position of the mower unit during work.
Proximity switch /#5 mower
This is mounted near the fulcrum of the #5
lift arm, and detects the #5 mower unit up
position.
It controls the rotation and stop position of
the front mower unit reel cutter, and the up
stop position of the mower unit during work.
Proximity switch/Parking brake
This is mounted near the fulcrum of the
brake pedal, and detects when the brake is
released.
It is linked to the engine start/stop circuit,
and controls the alarm buzzer if the driver
forgets to release the brake when traveling.
Proximity switch/Traveling pedal application
position detection
This is mounted near the fulcrum of the
traveling pedal, and detects the pedal being
pressed while the pedal stopper is
released.
It is installed to prevent overloading the
engine and piston pump.
An alarm buzzer is activated when pressing
the traveling pedal is detected with the front
mower reel cutter rotating. 1.

Proximity switch/Up/down lever (up)
Mounted to the lower side of the fulcrum of
the up/down lever, and detects the
operation position of the up/down lever.
It controls the up delay of the rear mower
unit.
Proximity switch/Up/down lever (down)
Mounted to the upper side of the fulcrum of
the up/down lever, and detects the
operation position of the up/down lever.
It controls the down operation of all mower
units, and the down delay of the rear mower
unit.
Proximity switch/Neutral
Mounted near the trunnion lever of the
piston pump, and detects when the
traveling pedal is in neutral.
It is linked to the engine start/stop circuit,
and controls the alarm buzzer if the driver
forgets to release the brake when traveling.
Proximity Switch V-in
Inspection of Control Output
Important
The output voltage of the proximity switch V-in
cannot be inspected.
Incorrect measurements may cause damage
to the proximity switch or tester.
Checking the continuity of the proximity
switch V-in while it is energized can
determine the state of the output.
Follow the steps below to connect the
battery and a circuit tester to the
connector terminal of the proximity switch
V-in.
Connect the battery (+) to the connector
terminal (+), and the battery (-) to the
connector terminal (-).
Connect the tester (+) to the connector
terminal V-in, and the tester (-) to the
connector terminal (-).
