Structure and function
The following section provides information on the machine structure
and the functions of the individual components.

The Cirrus Special allows sowing with or without previous soil cultiva-
tion in a single work process.
With the disc array (Fig. 46/1) mulch seeding and conventional plough
seeding is possible.
The seed is carried in the seed hopper (Fig. 46/2).
The preset seed volume passes from the seed doser (Fig. 46/3),
which is driven by an electric motor, into the air stream generated by
the blower fan (Fig. 46/4).
The air stream conveys the seed to the distributor head (Fig. 46/5),
which distributes the seed uniformly onto all the coulters (Fig. 46/6).
The seed is embedded into the strips in the soil, compacted in strips
by the wedge ring tyres (Fig. 46/7), and covered with loose soil by the
exact harrow. If required, the seed pressure roller beam (Fig. 46/8)
with the adjustable drag tines (Fig. 46/9) can be used.
The field connection run is marked in the centre of the tractor by the
track markers (Fig. 46/10).
Machines from a working width of 4 m upwards can be folded togeth-
er to a transport width of 3 m.
