Installation, Maintenance, Service & Part List Manual
Possible Cause
Check This
E-stop button failure
Check continuity with ohm meter across E stop terminals. It should
be zero ohms when the E stop is in the out position.
E-stop Safety Relay failure
Verify all three LEDs are lit on K3.
No LEDS indicate a failure of the 24VAC supply, a short in the E-
stop button wiring or a total failure of the E-stop relay.
Power only LED on, indicates a failure to reset due to reset button
wiring fault or a problem with the E-stop button wiring.
Computer module failure
Verify the E-stop LED turns on.
4.3.11
Homing Error
The homing function is a very critical function that locates the absolute machine zero position. This
function is to be performed every time the system has been turned on or reset. The homing function will
cause each axis to move in the positive direction towards its home switch.
Possible Cause
Check This
Door is open.
If the Door is open the homing routine will not run.
Home Switch failure.
The system will move the axis to the home switch when homing. If
the switch is not seen by the system that axis will hit the hard stop
and produce a servo error. This is noticeable because the axis will
move only toward the end stop, it will not back up away from the
stop. Check each home switch input light on the computer module
when the switch is activated.
Motor encoder failure
See Motor diagnostics, Section 5.5. Check if software sees index
angle on motor and resets once motor rotates 360 degrees.
Computer Module failure
See Computer diagnostics, Section 5.3.
4.4
Tool Changer Problems
See also section 5.8 for a list of tool changer error messages and possible causes.
4.4.1
Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) will not move
When a tool change is commanded, the ATC does not move to the front of the machine.
Possible Cause
Check This
Is the door open
Make sure the door is closed and there is no door open message on
the screen.
The computer module is not
outputting the command to move
the ATC
Check the ATC front LED output on the computer module.
Compressed air not being supplied
to the machine.
Is air connected to the machine?
Has the air pressure been turned
down at the pressure regulator?
Check air pressure is set to 90psi
Low air pressure. A low air
pressure warning should appear
on the screen when the air
pressure falls below 60psi.
Make sure the machine is receiving 90psi. The tool carrier should
still move if the air pressure is low.
