6.21 Servo Driver Replacement
The servo drives are located in a box on the top of the machine. See drawings 28156 and 27648-2 at the
end of the manual.
1. Turn power off to the machine and wait 5 minutes for the charge within the servo drives to
dissipate.
2. Identify the servo that needs replacement. They are mounted as X, Y and Z from left to right.
3. Remove all cables and wires from the servo driver.
4. Slacken, but do not remove the lower mounting screw.
5. Remove the one or two upper mounting screws and lift away the old servo.
6. Hook the new servo over the lower mounting screw and then install the other mounting screws.
Tighten all screws.
7. Connect all wires to the appropriate terminals.
8. On the Z axis servo, remove the link between terminals P and D and fit the brake resistor wires
between terminals P and C:
6.21 Setting Spindle Orientation – Service Code 510
1. Remove any tools from the spindle and ensure there is at least one empty tool spot in the ATC.
2. Go to service code 520 and select ATC FRONT.
3. Select INPUT TABLE. Use the handwheel to move the X and Y Axis to an empty tool spot. The tool
spot X and Y locations can be found in the table, and the DRO display in the lower right side of the
screen gives the current spindle position. Without moving the tool carrier or the axes, mode out
and enter service code 510 and select ORIENT SPINDLE.
