iAGC
Because of its nature, the iAGC only
sports the BASIC control set. Much of the
iAGC decision making is in real time based
on measurements of amplitude, density
and user settings in each of the five band
compressors. Thus, only very broad controls
are available to adjust as the actual values
of the settings “behind the curtain” are con
-
stantly adjusting and updating.
Window Size
Sets the amount of gain change before
the iAGC adjusts the audio level. This con
-
trol is entirely based on the
amplitude of the audio and
does not affect the dynamics
measurement. Lower settings
(Counter Clockwise) will make the iAGC work more like a traditional wide
-
band AGC. Higher settings allow the iAGC to do less dynamics control on
changing levels. The range of the control is 0 to +8dB. To adjust the value,
left click on the knob and use the mouse wheel to increase or decrease the
window size. You can also double click on the current value and type in the
new value.
Attack Speed
Changes the attack speed when the audio falls outside the iAGC window.
Faster values mean a quicker change in amplitude. The control range is 2 to 7
seconds. To adjust the value, left click on the knob and use the mouse wheel to
increase or decrease the speed. You can also double click on the current value
and type in the new value.
Release Speed
Changes the release speed when the audio falls outside the iAGC window.
Faster values mean a quicker change in amplitude. The control range is 2 to 7
seconds. To adjust the value, left click on the knob and use the mouse wheel to
increase or decrease the speed. You can also double click on the current value
and type in the new value.
Adapt Mode
Determines if the gain change in the iAGC is initially quick or slow. In the
ADAPT mode, a drastic level change will make the iAGC work faster to keep up
with the level. In the LINEAR mode, the iAGC will make gain changes uniformly
no matter what the input level is. To change the mode, left click on the knob and
use the mouse wheel to switch the mode. Left click again to confirm the change.
