Using The X1 Pro GUI
The GUI may be positioned on the host
computer’s screen by left-clicking-and-holding the
“Wheatstone” logo, and dragging the GUI to the
desired position. In normal “Windows” fashion,
the GUI may be minimized on the desktop (taken
off the screen) and/or closed by way of the familiar
controls at the extreme top right.
The X1 Pro GUI is a windows based application
that connects to the processing hardware and expands on the controls featured on the front
panel of the X1. The GUI is divided into two parts. The top half shows metering and the
bottom half contains the adjustment controls.
Metering
This section of the manual will first dive into the metering displays, then
show the various controls that govern the sound of the audio processor
Input Meters
The input meters show the level of the active audio source (Analog,
WheatNet-IP or AES). The meters are scaled in dBFS with average and peak
levels indicated. The arrows at -12dBFS indicate the maximum recommended
peak level. Average program level should be between -24dBFS and -20dBFS.
The X1 has a dynamic range of >120dB, thus there is no need to run the
input “hot” in order to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio.
