Attack Master
Governs how quickly the 10-band limiter corrects for peaks. There are nine
positions in this control. Eight of the nine are manual controls… that is, they
attack based on the user setting (slowest, slower, slow, med slow, med fast,
fast, faster, fastest). The center position is AUTOMATIC or AUTO. When in
this position, the attack time is program dependent.
To change the master attack, tap the control. You will see a green ring indi-
cating the control is active and ready to be changed. Use the front panel knob to
select the type of attack. The processing effect will change in real time as you
move the knob. Once you have reached the desired setting, push in the knob to confirm
the new value.
Release Master
Governs how quickly the 10-band limiter recovers after correcting audio.
There are nine positions in this control. Eight of the nine are manual controls…
that is, they release based on the user setting (slowest, slower, slow, med slow,
med fast, fast, faster, fastest). The center position is AUTOMATIC or AUTO.
When in this position, the release time is program dependent.
To change the master release, tap the control. You will see a green ring
indicating the control is active and ready to be changed. Use the front panel
knob to select the type of release. The processing effect will change in real
time as you move the knob. Once you have reached the desired setting, push in the knob
to confirm the new value.
Clip Drive
Governs how much drive there is to the final peak clipper. This control can
make extreme changes to the audio, so care should be given as to how hard
you drive this control. Sometimes, a little can go a long way.
To change the drive control level, tap the control. You will see a green ring
indicating the control is active and ready to be changed. Use the front panel
knob to select the type of release. The processing effect will change in real
time as you move the knob. Once you have reached the desired setting, push
in the knob to confirm the new value.
Pre-Emphasis
To change the pre-emphasis value, tap the control. You will see a green ring
indicating the control is active and ready to be changed. Use the front panel
knob to scroll thru the options available. There are three pre-emphasis options.
FLAT, 50uS and 75uS. Once the correct pre-emphasis has been selected, push
the knob in to activate.
NOTE: North America uses 75us pre-emphasis, while other regions use
50us. Refer to your local governing body as to which pre-emphasis should
be used if you are unsure.
The analog outputs of the audio processor have an option to apply a de-emphasis filter
to match the pre-emphasis selected here. The same can also be applied to the AES/EBU
left/right output. Pre-emphasis is not applied to any HD output options.
