Lesson 3 - Engraing Round objects
Make sure the MaxPro machine is powered on, the Goto Home button has been pressed
and the Job Server program has been started by clicking on the Job Server icon on the
Windows desktop.
Start Vision Pro by clicking the Vision Pro icon from the desktop in Windows.
Hardware setup
Press the “Rotary Axis” key, the LCD will display a choice: “1 – Standard mode” and “2 –
Ring mode”. Enter the number “1” and press enter.
On the next screen enter the outside diameter of the cylindrical object to be engraved using
the digital calipers provided. If the object is tapered measure the smallest and largest part
of the area (diameter) to be engraved and use the average of these two numbers to enter as
the diameter.
Press “Enter” to complete. After pressing “Enter” the machine will move to the center of the
vice automatically.
Preparing the vise
The back plate mounts on the follower side of the vice (right side) and the cone mounts on
the gearbox side of the vice (left side). Both these pieces have locating pins that allow them
to be mounted without fastening them.
