Note: Mostly the proximity sensor can be used when doing this type of engraving so the
surface does not need to be set. The surface will be detected automatically this way even if
contoured.
Engraving items that require the use of water
Items such as glass require that a rotating diamond or also known as a burnishing diamond
is used to produce a mark and water is applied to the item while engraving to ensure a
smoother finish.
When using these tools it is important to use the adaptor designed to operate with these
tools known as a “burnishing adaptor”. This tool allows minimal pressure to be applied while
engraving.
Remove the metal nose cone and install the plastic nose cone designed to accept the feeder
hose for the water supply. Install the “burnishing adaptor” and the diamond tool, exposing
approximately ¼” of the tool below the nose cone.
